Privacy Policy
Special Projects Canada Inc. ("SPC", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through specialprojectscanada.com and our forms, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email, phone number, company and role.
- Information about a business you submit for acquisition, including financial statements, figures about the business, its team, customers, property, debts and your goals for a sale.
- Answers you give in our questionnaires, such as revenue range, margins and growth priorities.
- Basic technical information, such as the page that referred you to us and how you reached a form.
Why we collect it
- To review a business you submit and decide whether to pursue an acquisition or partnership.
- To respond to you, prepare for and hold the conversation you asked for, and follow up.
- To keep accurate records of introductions and submissions.
- To meet legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
We only use your information for the purposes above or for purposes you agree to. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
When you submit a business, you agree that we may share it confidentially with the lenders and capital partners who finance our acquisitions, only to evaluate that business. We also use service providers who host our website, store our records and send email on our behalf. Each is required to protect your information and use it only for the work we ask of them. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
Information saved on your device
Some of our forms save your progress in your own browser so you can finish later. That information stays on your device until you submit it, clear it or start a new submission.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then securely delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including access controls and encrypted connections, to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to how we use it, subject to legal and contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may mean we cannot continue a review or conversation. To make a request, contact our privacy officer at contact@specialprojectscanada.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
